48 hours of non-stop teamwork
All participants are forming the teams of 4. For 48 hours they are working on the prototypes for one of the chosen Hackathon tracks. Throughout the development process, there are mentors and experts from the tech companies that assist the teams. Every team finishes Hackathon by presenting created prototype to the judges that decide on the winner.
Pizza, hot meals, healthy snacks
Participation in the Hackathon requires a lot of energy, extreme concentration and mental power. To contribute to the most high-quality development process, there are food and snacks supplied by the partners of the event.
Developing solution for the real-world problems
All HachUniversity cases are brought by the real companies. We collect the most relevant and acute problems for participants to solve.
Learning from experts
As a part of the event, there will be a series of workshops from the companies. This is to improve the effectiveness of the development process and encourage the productive knowledge sharing.
Prizes, fun, investments
The best teams are awarded with the valuable prizes by the partners of the event. The team of organizers and volunteers is preparing various activities that makes this event enjoyable and truly memorable. Venture funds offer further partnership and provide investments to the most successful teams.

Cases for HackUniversity are divided into tracks. Cases are revealed at the start of the event; however, participants can suggest their own ideas relevant to the chosen track

Development of the data management solutions
VR/AR
Virtual reality and Augmented reality: cutting edge technologies and their real-world implementation
Blockchain
Implementing blockchain solutions into different areas and creating trust services
Internet of Things (IoT) and Robotics
Connecting gadgets to solve various problems
Linux and open-source software
Developing Linux software applications and completing the GNU license-based software and hardware
Audio
Developing services and applications for music writing and sound processing, creating cloud music services, Internet radio, intelligent audio services
Social projects
This track is devoted to the projects that could directly benefit the society. These projects include environmental solutions, smart cities and energy consumption
Logistics
Use the given 48 hours to develop solutions that will help to improve the effectiveness of the logistics, make the goods and services closer to the customers and minimize the delivery costs
Cyber Security. Personal Data protection
This track provides an opportunity to suggest solutions that improve the information security and ensure compliance with personal data security policy
TRIZ
workshop
Participants of the MEGAhackathon will be able to attend various workshops organized as a part of the event and devoted to different topics and technologies. One of the workshops will be held by the practicing expert in the theory of solving inventive problems (TRIZ), and this seminar deserves a special attention.

Registration for teams and individual participants
If you have a team, you need to state that in the registration form. All team members must register individually, mentioning the same team name and name of the team leader. If you don't have a team, that's fine too: individual participants will be formed into groups at the beginning of the hackathon.

What is the age limit for participants?
You must be between the age of 18 to 45 in order to participate in MegaHackathon
I don't have a team. What should I do?
Don't worry! Individual participants will be formed into groups at the beginning of the hackathon. You can also find a team in our VK group.
How to register a team?
All team members must register individually, mentioning the same team name and name of the team leader.
How many participants could be in one team?
There are could be up to 4 people in one team.
What is the selection process?
Participants are selected based on the answers in the registration form, taking into consideration your skills, motivation and level of expertise. We are looking forward to seeing the examples of the realized projects, your achievements and future goals. All the above should be stated in the registration form.
I'm not an engineer, nor coder, can I still participate?
Sure, feel free to register! You should think over your role in the team and how your skills and experience can benefit the development process. In fact, the teams are advised to involve professionals from various areas of expertise: designer, business-analyst, project manager, psychologist, economist and so on. That could be a great advantage for the team.
I am not from St Petersburg. Where can I stay at night?
You can take a sleeping bag and spend the night in the MegaHackathon's space. Another option is to stay in the hotels and hostels nearby. If you need help choosing a place to stay, we will be glad you give you any advice.
